About Jessica
Hi, I’m Jessica—coach, consultant, and unapologetic dog lover.
I’ve spent nearly 30 years working in research, education, and healthcare as a leader, manager, educator, and occasional chaos coordinator. Over time, I realized that what I loved most wasn’t just solving problems, it was helping people find clarity, confidence, and connection. I was the person colleagues came to when they needed to think out loud, make a tough decision, or just take a breath.
I decided to make it official and pursued formal coach training through the Hudson Institute of Coaching. Now, through J. Walter Coaching & Consulting, I support individuals and teams who are navigating complexity, change, and everything in between.
My approach is thoughtful, collaborative, and grounded in the belief that we create the worlds we live in, one conversation at a time.
If our session gets briefly interrupted by a wagging tail, consider it part of the experience.
Outside of work, I’m an eager traveler, whether visiting near and far places or through the pages of a book. I get great pleasure out of working with my hands, including knitting, sewing, bookbinding, and working in the garden. I’m currently trying my hand at cyanotypes and paper marbling.
